Progressive Novi Boat Show cruising into town March 10-13

The Progressive Novi Boat Show is back after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, and visitors are in for a boatload (excuse the pun) of fun.

“The Progressive Novi Boat Show was actually shut down after the first day due to the pandemic in 2020. So, we are excited to be back and seeing our Michigan boaters, including thousands of people who discovered boating during the last couple years and realized it’s a safe and fun activity to do with their friends and family,” Amanda Wendecker, vice president of marketing for the Michigan Boating Industries Association (MBIA) said. “Exhibitors are also excited to be back at the show, we are already sold out of booth space for retail shopping, and will have an excellent showing of boats of all types and sizes for all budgets.”

All the best boating businesses will be under one roof. In fact, the show will feature hundreds of new 2022 and new overstocked non-current model boats, motors and trailers, all priced to sell. The more than 100 exhibitors will be showing boats for skiing, fishing and cruising, up to 35 feet in length. Plus, personal watercraft, accessories, dockage, hoists and much more.

Just days away from the beginning of spring, now is the time to order a boat. With bargain pricing, low interest rates and on-site financing, you can complete your purchase on the spot.

“We’re bringing the best boat dealers in Southeast Michigan all to one place. There is no better or more efficient way to comparison shop than at a boat show,” Wendecker said. “Online shopping is popular and while it’s a great resource for research, when making an investment like buying a boat, touching, feeling and boarding the boat to see if it’s right for your family is priceless. Seeing your options, learning from the experts with a wealth of knowledge is very beneficial whether you’re buying your first boat or moving into a new one. You can also learn a lot about boating, so you’re ready to go when the snow finally thaws.”

“Even if you’re not in the market for a new boat, the show is a fun place to meet up with your boating friends, look at everything that’s new, stock up on gear and get excited for the 2022 season that will hopefully not be too far away.”

In addition to the newest boats and personal watercraft, visitors can also check out the latest boating gadgets like convenient ways to raft off with other boats, electronics, E-foils that are like surfing without being behind a boat, nautical goods and retail shopping.

There is also plenty of family fun to be had, including multiple shows daily by the ever-popular Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel, Paint a Paddle Workshop, fun photo opportunities around the show and an Interactive Kid’s Zone on the weekend. You can also earn your boating license by completing the offered boater safety course with the Oakland County Marine Division. Registration is limited on boatmichigan.org/novi-boat-show/ When you’re ready to relax, stop by the tiki bar for a refreshment or take a load off on Adirondack chairs and play lawn games on the actual lawn inside the show.

The Harborside Market also returns to this year’s show. Shop retail booths with everything from nautical décor, footwear, boating gadgets, marine accessories, electronics, beauty products and much more. There will also be daily giveaways in the market each day of the show, including striped totes, wine bags, sunglass straps and portable pet water bottles, while supplies last.

“With hundreds of boats of all different varieties and for every budget – the show is a great place to learn about ‘what’s new.’ We know people are eager to get out after two long years, so we’re also trying to make this show a really fun experience,” Wendecker said.

The Progressive Novi Boat Show will be held March 10-13 at the Suburban Collection Showplace, 46100 Grand River Avenue, in Novi. Show hours are Thursday and Friday 2 to 9 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $12, children 12 and under are free with an adult.
